Natural stone simply exudes luxury. Materials like marble, granite and quartz transport us back to a time of imperial families, castles and classical architecture. Natural stone has the ability to not only transform the look of your home but improve its value in the real estate market. Additionally, the material is a perfect way to add a custom touch of originality to your space.

With so many colors and patterns to choose from, the possibilities are endless. That being said, natural stone isn’t limited to the bathroom and kitchen. There are many ways to incorporate it. Keep reading to learn six new ways to incorporate natural stone in your home.

Whether it be marble, granite or quartz, the material you choose heavily depends on the application you’re planning for. For example, natural stone is commonly used for countertops, vanities, sinks, showers, islands walls, floors and entryways. Each encounters a great deal of foot traffic or use. So, you’ll need to choose a material that’s resistant to staining and scratches.

Something else to keep in mind is that more delicate stones will require more protection or maintenance. So if the area sees little traffic, it may be best to incorporate it there. On the other end of the spectrum, if you’re wanting to incorporate natural stone as soon as you pass through the front door, you might opt for a darker, simplistic design that’s a bit more durable.
